La Chiquita de Quini

Unbelievably good food and a patio with live performances, but service that let us down.

La Chiquita de Quini is a gastrotaberna in the Judería, about 200 metres from the Mezquita. Its listings describe a mix of flamenco, gastronomy and Andalusian culture, with typical Córdoba dishes such as flamenquín and aubergines with foie, Iberian ham and goat cheese, and a popular pan bao.

Our verdict

Food ★★★★★ · Staff ★☆☆☆☆

The food: 5 out of 5. It is unbelievably good, and everything we ordered tasted great. The atmosphere is fun too, with a performance in the patio. The service: 1 out of 5. In our experience the service was very poor, and the staff were not friendly.

So it is a restaurant of two halves. If the food matters most, go, and go with patience; if friendly service matters most to you, our other places, like El Rincón de Carmen, are safer bets. Experiences can differ from visit to visit.

What to order

  • The pan bao: a steamed bun with pulled meat
  • Anything else on the menu: we found everything good

Good to know

  • Go for the performance in the patio
  • Be patient with the service
