Córdoba’s patios are traditional courtyards filled with flowers, tiles and water, and they are one of the most distinctive features of the city.
The Patios Festival
Each May, private courtyards open to visitors during the Festival de los Patios. The tradition is recognised by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage. Dates and participating patios change from year to year, so check the official programme.
Where to find patios
Patios are found throughout the old town, with well-known concentrations in neighborhoods such as San Basilio and the area around the Alcázar. Outside the festival, some patios and palaces, such as Palacio de Viana, can be visited at other times of the year.
