If you are driving to Córdoba, the best approach is to park outside the old town and walk in. The historic centre has narrow streets and restricted access.
Our advice: rent a car, park outside the old town
We always recommend renting a car if you stay about a week, because you can leave the city to see more, but we would leave it outside the old town while you explore on foot. Avis and Budget have offices in the train station, and Sixt, Europcar, Hertz and Enterprise are listed at the bus station across the street (listing checked on 1 October 2026).
The restricted historic centre
According to local parking guides, access to the old town by car is controlled by cameras: in general only residents, hotel guests with authorisation and people with a private garage can enter, and driving in without permission can bring an automatic fine. If your hotel is inside the restricted zone, ask the hotel how to register your car, because the city handles authorisations through an official process.
Municipal car parks
The Córdoba tourism board lists these car parks for cars, among others: Isolux Corsan on Avenida de los Custodios 2, La Ribera on Paseo de la Ribera 1, Puerta Sevilla at Puerta Sevilla 5, Avenida de la Libertad (underground), La Mezquita on Avenida de Doctor Fleming 1, Conde de Robledo 6, El Corte Inglés on Ronda de los Tejares 30, El Arcángel on Avenida del Arcángel, the bus station on Calle Tartesos and the train station on Glorieta de las Tres Culturas. The page does not list prices or opening hours, so check these with each car park.
The tourism board’s list is a starting point. Always check the car park’s own information for height limits, opening hours and prices before you go.
Free parking
Local guides mention that some visitors park on streets across the river or along Avenida de Cádiz and walk 10 to 20 minutes to the old town. Rules, time limits and paid zones can change, so read the signs carefully, and do not leave valuables in the car.
Tips
If you arrive by car and have luggage, drop it at your hotel if allowed, and then park. In summer, a shaded or underground car park matters, because cars get extremely hot. See our guide to getting around.
