La Ribera

La Ribera is the stretch of promenade along the Guadalquivir between the Roman Bridge and the Miraflores Bridge, right at the foot of the historic centre. It is one of the best places to walk and eat by the water.

We ate at many places in La Ribera while living in Córdoba.

About La Ribera

La Ribera runs along the river from the Roman Bridge to the Miraflores Bridge. Along the Paseo de la Ribera you will find restaurants with outdoor terraces looking over the Guadalquivir. Walking routes start at the Molino de Martos, a historic mill, and continue to the terraces of the Parque de Miraflores, passing the Puente del Arenal and the C3A, the Andalusian centre for contemporary creation. Locals use the walks as much as visitors do.

Eating here

During our months in Córdoba we ate in many places: in San Basilio, on the squares and in La Ribera. See our guide to the best restaurants for the places we recommend.

More places we ate in La Ribera

Along the river and the streets behind it we ate at La Taberna del Río (4.5 out of 5, a sunny lunch with a rooftop), La Siesta (4, spare ribs and pan bao), Taberna La Alquería (3, on a cosy street) and Regadera (3.5, creative cooking). For a drink on a roof see our rooftop bars.

Where we ate by the river: La Taberna del Río (with a rooftop terrace), Fusión by Sojo (terrace under orange trees) and Regadera on Ronda de Isasa, a Michelin Bib Gourmand. The Roman Bridge is at the start of the walk, and the Feria fairground is about a 20 to 25 minute stroll along the river.
