Romance is personal, so this page is not a ranking. It lists the restaurants we visited whose setting stands out: a patio, a terrace or a view, which in Córdoba is often what makes a dinner feel special.
Our view
We have eaten at all of these places and picked them for their settings. Where we have a rating, it is ours, out of five.
A flower-filled patio
Puerta Sevilla in San Basilio is in a house over 200 years old, with a central patio full of flowers and plants and tables set around it. El Rincón de Carmen in the Judería offers a genuine Córdoba patio.
A quiet evening in San Basilio
San Basilio, where we lived, is the calm corner of the old town, and two of our favourite quiet dinners are there, a few streets apart. Taberna La Viuda (4 out of 5) is the place for a peaceful evening: the tuna melts in your mouth and the prawn croquetas are unbelievably good. La Posada del Caballo Andaluz (4 out of 5) is very cosy, with two floors and a patio where the birdsong comes from real birds in a cage: sit in the patio. The croquetas and calamares were very tasty. Read more about the area in our San Basilio guide.
A terrace under orange trees
Fusión by Sojo has a terrace surrounded by vines and orange trees, and a glass of wine there in the evening is as pleasant as it looks in our photo.
A rooftop with views
La Taberna del Río has a rooftop terrace with views over the river and the Roman Bridge area, according to its listing.
A cocktail on the roof
For a drink rather than a dinner, Horno San Luis has a roof-terrace cocktail bar next to the Mezquita. We rated it 3 out of 5 as a restaurant, but as a cocktail bar it is a lot of fun. See all our rooftop bars.
When to go
Patios are at their best in spring: see the Patios Festival. In summer, the evening terraces are the pleasant ones: see our weather guide. For more ideas, see things to do for couples.
