Day Trips & Excursions

Córdoba is a good base for day trips, either with a tour or on your own. This page compares the main options, with journey times and typical tour lengths.

How we compiled this

We have not taken these tours. This page summarises what the tour listings say and how guests rated them: ratings are from the platforms, as shown in search listings on 1 October 2026, with the number of reviews, which matters because a high score from few reviews is less reliable. We have no booking partners yet, so we link to none and show no prices, which change often.

Seville and Granada by train

Seville is about 45 minutes away by high-speed train, and Granada about 1 hour 45 minutes. Both are possible as day trips, though Granada makes for a long day. See our guides to Seville and Córdoba by train.

Ronda and the white villages

Private tours to Ronda and nearby white villages from Córdoba last 6 hours or more, and white-village full-day trips are 6 to 8 hours. We drove to Ronda ourselves: it is a long drive, so see our Ronda guide for the real driving time and our advice to return before dark.

Closer to Córdoba

The castle at Almodóvar del Río is about 28 minutes by car or 30 minutes by bus, and a visit of two to three hours is recommended. The Montilla wine region is about 40 minutes by bus, a half-day trip. See also Zuheros.

Tour or car?

We always recommend renting a car if you stay about a week, because it lets you leave the city and see more. See our planning guide.
